The leader of Renamo (opposition), Afonso Dhlakama, has just made his entry in the firm Socadiv Holding Lda. The company’s two shareholders, Manuel Zeca Bissopo and Albano Carige Antonio, also members of Renamo, sold him their stakes at the end of October, hence making Dhlakama the main shareholder (with 90% of the equity) in this company. Bissopo is a young graduate of the Universidade Católica de Moçambique (UCM) who had been tipped two years ago as a possible general secretary of Renamo.
Antonio for his part is a resident of Beira who is also one of the numerous shareholders of Sociedade de Desenvolvimento Industrial de Moçambique (Sodimo), created several years ago. Run by a certain Cherif Haidara, Socadiv specialises in exporting wood and assorted material like scrap metal for example.
It also has a licence for mining exploration.
